Customer Reviews

We purchased this in March of 2009. It came with here:Turntable, Convection grid, Crisper pan & handle, baking tray and steamer vessel.

There are such a lot of features in here that i do not believe I’ve used everything.

First, the Convection Microwave Oven:

De-Frost – i am not an incredible menu planner so defrosting before I cook has to work quickly and efficiently for me. Except for the same old cooking power options (High 100%, 90%, 80% etc) i’m able to select from Meats, Poultry, Fish, Bread, Juice & Manual. The microwave calculates the defrosting time in accordance with the burden that I input. The manual has guidelines and pound to kilogram conversions.

Re-Heat – The choices include Dinner Plate, Sauce, Soup, Pizza, Casserole, Beverage and Manual. The microwave bases the reheating on what number of cups of sauce/soup/casserole/beverage is inputed and the variety of slices of pizza. As an example, i need to heat a cup of coffee. (Ghastly to a couple, i do know , but I’ve done it) The microwave will ask you the way many cups and whether you desire it warm or hot. Simple & easy.

Manual Cooking – Just input the cooking power and the cooking time and you’re prepared!

Popcorn – Works like in other microwave ovens. Pop it in accordance with the bag size.

Steam Cooking – The vessel is available in 3 parts: the quilt, the food holder and the water container they usually all fit together. I’ve steamed fresh vegetables, frozen vegetables and many dim sum. They’ve all been delicious. The choices are Potatoes, Fresh Vegetables, Frozen Vegetables, Fish fillets, Shrimp & Manual. Again, the microwave calculates the cooking times on what number cups and the way many ounces. The steaming vessel is dishwasher safe.

Soften/Melt – The choices are Butter, Margarine, Ice Cream, Cream cheese and the softening/melting time relies on what number of sticks and ounces you might have. We adore to bake and now we have a keenness for ice cream cakes so this have been so useful.

Crisper Pan Frying – Here is the only feature that I’ve only tried a few times. I still desire to use the old frying pan, I’ll admit. I followed the guide inside the manual and made an omelet.

Timer – i take advantage of this mostly when I’m making pasta at the stove top. i will have this running while the oven is cooking something else.

The Microwave converts to a Convection oven/Easy Convect. I just put the grid at the turntable. I’ve done smaller amounts of cookies, some chicken, baked potatoes and french fries this fashion.

The bottom portion of this oven is the electrical Convection Oven. In “traditional” oven mode i will make a choice from Bake, Broil & Bread Proof. In convection mode, there’s Bake, Broil & Roast. Simply to give me something else to think of there’s also an EasyConvect option. There’s also the choices key that does the fahreinheit & celsius conversion, turns the sound on/off/high/low, dehydrates, oven temperature calibration, Sabbath mode and switch the turntable on/off.

To clean, I activate the Self Clean Mode, choose the collection of hours i need and wipe down when it’s cool. The manual advises against using commercial oven cleaners.

Again, such a lot of features. The hot button is i have been very pleased with this oven. It replaced an ancient GE that came with our house. loads of thought went into this purchase since we also needed to hire someone to chip away at a brick wall that still housed a hearth that we needed to maintain. I chose this oven as a result of brand, the stainless-steel, its size & features and since i wished the microwave oven off my counter. Notice that I mention the manual rather a lot. It has plenty of information!

Highly recommended.

WHEN it really works, it’s fine. However ours keeps breaking down. Even if we bought the guaranty, it keeps breaking and so they refuse to exchange it. We’ve had repairmen come such a lot of times during the last couple of years, it’s gotten ridiculous. The microwave is the worst. It breaks down greater than the oven. The repetitive breaking is bad enough, but i must take off work each time (it breaks down monthly) for the repair guys to return over and it is very difficult on us since we need to usually do it several times per episode (1st they diagnose it, then they order parts, then they struggle to exchange/repair, usually unsuccessfully, then the decision back to the guaranty place who has to authorize more repairs, etc.).

It’s a ravishing piece of hardware, but really only a piece of JUNK. At this point, we will need to cut our losses and just buy something else. If you purchase this, get the extended warranty after which prepare to take off work (ALOT) when it starts breaking.

We had this oven installed on December 1st 2008. It lasted 4 weeks before the magnetron and inverter went, rendering the microwave completely unusable.

We called kitchenaid to get the application fixed, who sent a repair technician who diagnosed the difficulty but couldn’t fix it. Kitchenaid then sent ANOTHER technician who then needed to re-diagnose the issue.

The second technician was a nightmare since, unable to reserve correct parts and connect the difficulty in any respect.

To this date, the oven have been broken for 4 weeks with out sign of it getting fixed anytime soon. Do yourself a favor and get something else.

  1.  short order cook says: October 16, 2011

i owned the kitchen aid steam oven and range – it could take volumes to explain the torturous 6 month experience but here’s a synopsis: broken on arrival after 7 service calls and six months still not fixed kitchen aid refused to exchange and so needed to dispute the charge on my mastercard – thank goodness i won this unit was $4,999.99 – never again kitchen aid. Had a similar problem with my KA dishwasher purchased whilst also replaced by myself dime. DON’T BUY FROM KITCHENAID!!!!
